This week was very stressing but in the end, everything went well. We were able to finish the island environment and to implement the different components we had envisioned.
MOJO was a lot of fun and it was great to experience it with the artists too. The feedback obtained was also very positive. Overall, I’m very happy with the result.

Island Design
I’m finishing the island design and introducing elements that enrich the player experience. Currently, I’m designing the temple and puzzle that the player must solve in order to get a reward.
I also added a mini-map that guides the player through the island and elements that enrich the game storyline.
Development of puzzles, mini-map and animations
This week I started developing the puzzles component of the game, implemented a mini-map to help orientate the player and help them successfully navigate the environment to points of interest and objectives. Moreover, I also corrected some bugs in the animations of the character.
Game Development
This week I was responsible for the improvement of the survival mechanisms and the integration of the corresponding animations in order to perfect these for MOJO. Next, I will implement the graphical part of the enemies and will start implementing the puzzle resolution scenario.
Prototype Development
This week I was responsible for improving the island design and player animations together with the artists from Fine-Arts and for developing interaction mechanisms with different elements.
Prototype Development
This week I focused on exploring options for the controls of the player in the game and the presentation of the gameplay elements and prototyped different options.
Additionally, I finished the last details for the presentation.
Currently, I’m working on the development of game features.
Control and presentation
This week I was responsible for exploring options for the controls of the player in the game and the presentation of the gameplay elements and prototyping the different solutions. The control prototypes for the food, water and health bars, inventory, crafting, and interactions with the environment can be found below.
Updates on the prototype
This week I continued the development of the technology prototype in Unity in collaboration with the fine arts students and their feedback. We are still focused on finishing the island set and environment design and exploring how to make the exploration experience immersive.
Technology Prototype
This week I continued developing the technology prototype in Unity, specifically improving the island set and environment design and started exploring the implementation of the player’s basic mechanics.
Technology Feasibility Prototype
I was responsible for exploring technology feasibility, namely the technological tools required to develop the game. Since the game will be developed in Unity I also explored different assets required to the game design. Additionally, I built a simple software prototype that represents the environment of the game and addresses some of the features required to realize the core gameplay loop(s) and experience goals.
